Le Antiche Torri’, in collaboration with the local government, has created the fabulous Gelso Bianco (White Mulberry Tree) Project.  It is an exchange program specifically for high school students from China and Italy.  The core purpose is for the two cultures to learn from each other and to explore ideas of cultural diversity.  The energy, passion and openness of this particular age-group has been the key to the initiative’s long lasting success.

The first exchange was in 2006 and we have had ‘x’ more since then.  The teenagers spend 2 weeks with a host family and their school teachers go with them – they are never too old to learn new ideas!

During the exchange the students spend time in the host schools, ‘live’ their normal domestic home life and see key cultural sights and generally engage with the activities as if they were living as part of the family.

We have been able to share the history and beauty of places such as Venice, Rome and Florence with our young Chinese visitors and they in turn showed our youth the magic of places such as Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing.

If you are interested in any aspect of these exchanges , please do get in touch and we would be happy to talk to you about them.
